Films that show who you really are

Charity Films

Every Charity has a story

Often the story lives in the people you support, the volunteers who turn up week after week, and the moments that never make it into an annual report.

We make short films that capture that story.

Not a polished advert, but an honest, human introduction to who you are and why your work matters. The kind of film that helps a funder, a volunteer or a family feel they already know you.

We bring over 20 years of television and documentary experience, and the same care we use in all our community work. People are at the centre of every film we make.

Some of our films are made with emerging filmmakers: young people starting out in the industry, paid fairly and guided by Jenny at every stage. So your film also helps the next generation of storytellers find their feet.

1. We Listen

A relaxed conversation about your organisation, who you support and what you’d love the film to do for you.

2. We find the story

A relaxed conversation about your organisation, who you support and what you’d love the film to do for you.

3. We film

A calm, unhurried shoot at your space. We work around your day, not the other way round.

4. We Shape it

We edit the film, share it with you, and make changes where necessary. We want to make sure it feels right.

A note on pricing

Our prices are set with charities and community organisations in mind. Every film is a little different, so we’ll send you a clear quote after our first conversation.

Head to the Sky is a Community Interest Company, which means our work is driven by purpose, not profit. If you’re a larger organisation, or you’d like a film as part of a bigger project, get in touch and we’ll talk it through.

Questions charities often Ask

How long should our film be?

For a website introduction, two to three minutes is usually right. Long enough to say something real, short enough that people watch to the end.

Who should be in it?

That’s something we work out together. Often the most powerful voices are the people you support, alongside staff or volunteers. We never pressure anyone to take part.

Who makes our film?

Jenny leads every film, from the first conversation to final sign-off. Glimpse films are filmed and edited by emerging filmmakers she guides. Snapshot films are made by Jenny herself, and Portrait films bring in our Director of Photography and editor.

Do you write a script?

Not in the usual sense. Our films are built from real conversations, so people speak in their own words. We plan the story carefully, but we don’t put words in anyone’s mouth.

Can we use the film in funding bids?

Yes. Once it’s finished, it’s yours to use across your website, social media, funding applications and events.

Is VAT Included?

No. Head to the Sky is not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
